Passionate about pub food

A Northumberland hospitality group is putting its message where its mouth is and becoming ‘Passionate about pub food’.

Joining the ‘Passionate People. Passionate Places’ Regional Image campaign Lindisfarne Inns Limited which owns the popular Lindisfarne Inn at Beal and the newly revamped Bamburgh Castle Inn in Seahouses has become the latest backer of development Agency One North East’s campaign to promote the region.

By adopting the ‘Passionate about’ strap line the group hopes to help spread the word about North East England being an incredible place to live, work, study and visit.

Keith Liddell of Lindisfarne Inns said: “We are delighted to have become a part of the Regional Image campaign by playing an active and visible role in showing our support for the North East. We’ll be using the ‘Passionate about pub food’ strap line on our menus, website and leaflets to help promote the region and reinforce our commitment to serving quality, value for money pub food.”

He added: “Our inns occupy arguably the best locations along the coastline here in Northumberland and we are pleased to be joining One North East in making this unique area an unmissable destination and in championing traditional, home-cooked pub food.”

Chris Taylor, head chef at The Lindisfarne Inn, said: “We love our food and are passionate about what we do which is producing delicious home-cooked but affordable pub meals.

“As the credit crunch continues to bite customers are looking to get real value for money when it comes to eating out. Both the Lindisfarne Inn and the Bamburgh Castle Inn offer great, affordable dining for all the family without compromising on quality. We use local seasonal produce wherever possible, including Aberdeen Angus beef from the borders and Lindisfarne crabmeat.”

Geoff Hodgson, chair of the Northeast Tourism Advisory Board (NETA), said: “The news that Lindisfarne Inns are adding their support to the Regional Image campaign is fantastic.

“The Bamburgh Castle Inn and Lindisfarne Inns are real beacons of hospitality in the North East. I am delighted that organisations of this calibre and the people behind them are getting behind the campaign to flag up the region as an exceptional place.”
