North East England Looking Forward
There is no doubt that North East England is now entering the most challenging economic time it has faced in nearly 20 years.
Over the past couple of years, the Regional Image Campaign has promoted North East England as a great place to grow a business and invest in.
But with the businesses now facing unprecedented challenges One North East’s Director of Communications and Tourism Stacy Hall, explains the way the ‘Passionate people. Passionate places’ campaign will be responding to recent events.
“The Regional Image Campaign was created, after research identified the image of the region as one of the barriers to the North East’s economic growth.
“With companies across the world taking a harder look at their investment decisions it is vital that we continue to promote North East England as an excellent place to do business and a sound investment proposition.
“The ‘Passionate people. Passionate places’ campaign will continue to build the reputation and confidence of the region, in particular promoting North East England’s strengths as a location for world-class innovation and R&D.
“But we are making changes to the focus of the campaign to make sure we are adopting the right tone and getting the best return on investment. Our advertising will be targeted in specific sectors such as engineering, the chemical industry, energy, digital media and healthcare. The aim is to build a firm foundation for the future when the upturn arrives.
“This will be supported by online advertising attracting people to the http://www.northeastengland.co.uk/ website that is receiving visitors from the US, China and India as well as key target markets for inward investment including Norway and Sweden.”
